Day Three (Part 1) - Karnak
Again I skipped breakfast. After Sabine had come back I decided
I'd been in bed long enough and that it was time to actually start
seeing some of this wonderful land. We decided that we would go
to Karnak in the morning and Luxor temple in the afternoon.
When we left the hotel we were accosted by Saymon, the calesh driver
who had taken my wife to the chemist. We thought "what the
hell" and asked him to take us to Karnak.
After a 10 minute ride we arrived at Karnak. Saymon said he'd wait
for us and take us to his house for lunch. By this time I was his
brother and Sabine was his sister. Boy do you learn the hard way.
We had trouble with him all week but that story will come later.
We queued for our tickets and then entered one of the most spectacular
sites I've ever visited. Karnak is truely a special place. Today
it is awe inspiring but in it's heyday it must have been incredible.
We spent a good two hours walking around Karnak, taking pictures
and just enjoying the beauty of the place.
The following are pictures I took while at Karnak. I'm afraid I
haven't labelled them yet but that will come when I get more time...
